I read it in school several times and that might be the reason why I was never really into the book.Been some time since I read it.. I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped. There was a time when I read classics for fun, all thanks to my brilliant German/literature teacher, Frau R. Maybe I didn't enjoy it that much because this was read pre-Frau R. in school. v_v'

I liked this play more than others that I got assigned. I liked how schiller openly criticised the absolutist leader. must have been a real scandal at that time. my favourite character is lady milford. she is first introduced as a very negative character, but when we actually meet her she tells her tragic life story and we see that she actually has her heart in the right place and wants to do good. but that doesn't mean she's 'too good': lady milford is also calculating and a bit cunning and I

I had to read this book for school and I didn't expect too much from it to be honest. It turned out to be just as I imagined it to be. Boring. It's not only the language - I usually don't have a big problem with reading old books, but it's not just that the language is old.
