Mitsuki has been diagnosed with throat cancer. Despite her heath conditions, Mitsuki enters a competition to receive a recording album. However, fate has different plans for her; the god of death sends shinigamis, Takuto and Mereko, (Death Angels) to retrieve Mitsuki’s soul. To the shock, Mitsuki can some how manage to see these two death angels. Along the way, these two angels decide to help Mitsuki’s journey to become a pop sensation, but not everyone is willing to aid Mitsuki. The theme that is relevant in this manga, is that every individual should treasure their life, any minute the gift that is given can be taken away. So live everyday, like it’s your last. Try new things, every once in and follow the actual definition. . As a reader, I could connect to the protagonist and her struggles. Also, it is evident in everyday life, as people who are diagnosed with cancers and other maligned diseases, their lives are disturbed from their everyday life. This is my favorite book of all times. It was very inspirational and I had tears in my eyes. Arina Tanemura’s art is amazing and portrays the mood and tone set for the characters. This manga deserves a five plus. In this bittersweet tale of puppy love, tragedy, and aspirations of pop-star fame, 12-year-old Mitsuki's life finds hope when a comical pair of magical beings appearsSo I saw the anime of this long before I read the manga but as every one has experienced the anime and manga can differ quite a bit so I picked this up.There's a lot of things to love about this series. The art style, the characters and the humor but there's also a bit of darkness too which helps to give this seemingly sweet mangaA very cute addition to the mahou shoujo (magical girl) genre, this is a quintessential magical idol subtype. However, I personally do not consider this manga among my favorites and probably never will. There are some glaring flaws and things that irk me. However, in the middle to the last third of the manga there is some very interesting plot points made and characterization done.CHARACTERS:To begin with, ugh Mizuki's selfless attitude was so irritating. Full Moon O Sagashite, is a great book cuz its about this 12 year old girl named Mitsuki who wants to sing. But tragically, she has throat cancer, her parents died, and she is now living with her grandmother. Mitsuki heard that there was a singing audition and if you won, you become famous. And the reason she wanted to become famous is because she wanted to meet someone she knew for a long time that somehow currently resides in America. It would probably be better as an anime, since it's a music manga with the main character singing all the time.Negiramen is the best part of it, not so much the main character. The leading lady is understandably weak, gullible, and doesn't understand the real world at all. While it makes sense with her back story, I've seen characters I like more who have never left their room for years.Typical shoujo, which makes it rather predictable.
The surface story here is pretty simple and standard: Mitsuki uses magic to help her become a pop idol. It isn't exactly cheating: the magic makes her older (16) and healthy, but doesn't affect her actual singing ability. Healthy because, in her normal, 12 year old body, Mitsuki is dying of throat cancer. This could be boringly worn, or cloyingly manipulative, and probably some readers will see it as that. I remember going to the library and picking this up because it looked stunning (I was like 12) and I was intrigued with the whole idea of reading from right to left so I grabbed as many pretty looking mangas as I could. This was one of the first ones I decided to read and picking it up again all these years later really brought a sense of nostalgia. The art is reminiscent of older types of manga, but in my opinion is one of the best forms of it if you compare it to mangas released in the
