I'm a big fan of Tennessee Williams. While I love all of his plays, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is especially dear and meaningful to me. There were times in my life when I felt like a cat on a hot tin roof. Who hasn't? Williams was a master of characterization, especially of female characterization. Well first I must confess reading play scripts is not my favorite thing, including this one even thought it won both Pulitzer and Drama Critics Circle awards. I'm sure this story caused quite a stir when it was first published in 1954, even so Tennessee Williams was famous for continuing to rewrite aspects of his plays several times over decades. My book is the 1974 version of the play, though I'm not sure which parts have been revised from the original, is this the better one ??? We're on a 28
