Narrative During Books Primal Fear (Vail/Stampler #1)
Martin Vail, the brilliant "bad-boy" lawyer every prosecutor and politician love to hate, is defending Aaron Stampler, a man found holding a bloody butcher's knife near a murdered archbishop. Vail is certain to lose, but Vail uses his unorthodox ways to good advantage when choosing his legal team—a tight group of men and women who must uncover the extraordinary truth behind the archbishop's slaughter. They do, in a heart-stopping climax unparalleled for the surprise it springs on the reader...Rating Of Books Primal Fear (Vail/Stampler #1)

I love, love, love this movie (mostly because I love, love, love Edward Norton), so when I saw this book at a used book sale, I grabbed it. I hadn't even known it was a book, let alone a series. I am so glad I saw the movie first because they changed so much of it from the book! I'd probably have hated the movie if I'd read this book first. Even knowing what happens, I still really enjoyed this book. It is well-written (except for some weird typos, like Rudman instead of Rushman in one spot)
I an't gonna forget this...Never in this life. This is the kind of book you want all your friends to read. Afterwards, you hope you will sit down and discuss. None of that happened. That is not very pleasant. Anyway, that does not change the fact that it is a great book. Very relevant. I quickly rushed to check who Mr. William Diehl is? I thought he was either a lawyer or psychiatrist. Surprisingly, he was none of that. It is the type that you literally cannot lift your head from. Patience my

A worthy read for the Goodreads Mystery and Thriller Week!!This is my first book by the author, and I must say I did enjoy reading the novel: a psychological thriller-cum- courtroom drama. In Chicago, an archbishop called the Saint of Lakeview Drive has been brutalized and a young man, Aaron Stampler, has been arrested from the scene of crime with the murder weapon. The evidence points to Aarons guilt, and he is facing capital punishment. Now we are introduced to Martin aka Marty Vail, ex-army
Far better than the film. Yes I know. But the book is 99%? of the time better than the film. (Although the casting was DEVINE! )This is the twist at its best. This is the pompous arse getting his arse handed to him on a silver platter. Murder most foul, and yet, psychological mindf@@kary at its apex. What else can I say.
Thought provoking A Bishop with an eminent standing in the local community is sadistically murdered by a teenager who was under his care, to the point that beyond the large amount of mortal wounds inflicted all over his body, his genital organs end up stuffed in his mouth .The potential perpetrator is a teenager suffering from a multiple personality disorder. Was he or his alter ego ?, is he accountable if his alter ego has done it ?, is multiple personality disorder a recognized mental disease
I really enjoyed this book. I watched the film first, which I really loved too. Probably one of the best thrillers I ever read and highly recommend. The writing is really easy to get sucked in to, and the characters are very realistic, and fun to read about. Furthermore I find that the film is simply a watered down version of the book. So if you have watched the film, and you want to know pretty much every characters backstory, I would advise to read this book.
