It always saddens me when I have the privilege of an ARC of a much anticipated release from a debut author. I really, really wanted to love this but sadly, it just didn't work for me.The story is great although I did have a hard time understanding the character's motivations even when it was explained to me but I struggled with the writing style, especially the lack of contractions which made the narrative kind of stilted for me which stopped me fully connecting and there's also a distinct lackDo you remember watching Sweet November?The way Sarah wanted to live her life as though every moment were her last?The way Nelson couldn't bear to see her fade?
